The raccoon was a huge beast

It's so cute, but so murderous (it's trying to give us rabies)

Last night, I was at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn (of all places) and I saw a ginormous raccoon across the courtyard. It was at least 3 times the size of Chico and, I thought, it was adorable. As an animal lover, I knew I needed to get closer to see it's fuzzy little face and I also wanted to shoo it away. I've never shooed a raccoon.

I ran toward it and this dude started screaming at me to get away from it because it might be rabid. I was like, whatever, this thing is totally going to run away from me. It didn't. It ran towards me. We made eye contact and it looked so sad, but it scurried towards me. I froze, because I couldn't believe that this wild animal in the middle of the city is running towards a human. But it was. The screaming dude really got upset at this point. He was insistent that it was rabid and that I'm stupid and get away. I went back to my friends, not sure what to do. It veered it's course and scurried towards a group of people who'd (logically) gathered to take pictures and videos.

This thing was fearless, ya'll. It started up some stairs toward another guy (who was a little too close) taking a video. I guess it decided this was a dead end and it went through some bikes in a bike rack and took off for the bushes. This whole time, the screamer was yelling at us about having to cut it's head off and send the head to Albany to check for rabies if it bit one of us idiots who were too close.

It was awesome. It's moments like these where I love New York.

This weather has caused Chico and me to lose the will to live

Has also lost the will to live because it's cold
You know that thing where you don't want to do anything except lay in the bed and watch How I Met Your Mother and you don't want to answer the phone or do your homework or speak to anyone because it's been cold and rainy for months and it's dark and terrible and you've lost the will to live and ennui has swallowed your entire soul?

Alright. All that is a little dramatic, but I don't want to do anything. I'm counting down the hours until daylight savings starts this Sunday. The dark and dreary weather is taking a toll. I've had all I can stand, and so has Chico. Probably mostly because I don't want to do anything and he gets bored laying around and listening to me whine. Boyfriend is probably also tired of it. He actually works outside in the elements and he really does have a good reason to have his soul swallowed by ennui.

I feel lazy and lack the motivation to finish up the last 6 weeks of school. I'm finishing my portfolio and getting things all wrapped up. I beat myself up for every second I don't spend working on school work, but I wake up in the middle of the night almost every night and can't go back to sleep so I'm tired. And cranky. And cold. (One of my friends told me it's senioritis, but I'm convinced it's because I'm a lazy loser who's a failure at life and being a designer)

I'm a big whiny blob.

And, speaking of blobs, winter makes me feel fat. Sigh.

Thoughts? Relating? Anyone?

PS: Thank you for reading my whine.

The Perfect Body and Windsor Grace Dream Big

My friend, The Perfect Body (TPB) and I were sitting around her house watching Gallery Girls last night (she's never seen it). And while discussing the likelihood of Chantal being a Horcrux (very likely), Liz being a huge bitch (at least she owns it like a bad ass) and Maggie's awesome hair, we came to some conclusions:

1: Moving to New York City would be totally awesome if we didn't have to be insanely poor (duh)

2: Moving to New York City would be awesome if we had tons of money we can throw around, do whatever we want and only ride the subway when we want to (I didn't mind the subway when I was there, I like the anonymity of it, but TPB disagrees).

3: Moving to New York City would be awesome if we could party every day and night like rock stars but still have normal and functional lives (you know, we don't want to be that girl)

4: Moving to New York City would be awesome if we were so nice and amazing that everyone loved us and wanted to be around us and all of the men would want to be with us and we had enough backbone to shoo away assholes and stand up to jerks but still lovable and amazing.

Then TPB said she'd be the upper and I'd be the downer. Because that's how we are.

This is where the plan broke down into giggles and staring off into the distance imagining our amazing doppleganger, New York livin' selves.

Nag

At dinner the other night:

My friend AB talking about me and my dude: "Are you guys dating?"

Me: "Yeah."

AB: "I could tell by the way you were nagging him."
